Eligibility for potential participation in the Own Africavision Song Contest requires a national broadcaster with active OAUB membership that would be able to broadcast the contest. As in every edition, an invitation to all the members has been sent in order to confirm whether they will participate or not.
- Botswana:
- Djibouti: The broadcaster announced that the Head of Delegation had resigned and therefore the country would be withdrawing.
- Liberia: The broadcaster announced that the country would not be present again due to a lack of funding and that a return in the future is uncertain.
- Western Sahara: The broadcaster announced that the Head of Delegation had resigned and therefore the country would be withdrawing.
